Urban abstract

In Urban Abstract, the city is understood as a web of forces rather than a sum of buildings. Vertical and horizontal placements, condensations, and ruptures take the place of streets, squares, or facades. The images examine how density, overlay, acceleration, and proximity can be translated into purely painterly and constructive decisions.

The series is concerned with the feeling of being woven into an urban structure without ever fully grasping it. Contrasts of colour, rhythm, and overlay assume the roles that traffic, architecture, and human flows play in lived reality. The city is therefore not described, but made perceptible as a field of tension — a condition oscillating between attraction, overload, and abstract order.
